Big Bang‘s Taeyang recently sat down for an interview with Star News and discussed the infinite trust he has in his members, as well as the strong bond between them.

He began, “We went through a lot of obstacles this year, but that has made our friendship that much stronger.”

Taeyang’s already known to be the best friend of G-Dragon, having joined YG Entertainment together when they were just little kids. Taeyang expressed, “As a friend, I was upset about what happened to Jiyong. Jiyong will always be a friend that is closer than family to me. Even if worse things were to happen, I’ll never be able to let go of his hand. I believe that this goes the same for Jiyong. To me, Jiyong is a friend that I’ll be with forever.”

In October, a Twitter post that he had made became the source of controversy once G-Dragon’s marijuana case broke out. For the first time, he opened up by stating, “What I wrote had nothing to do with Jiyong at all. It was just my thoughts on the world. It made me really upset that my words were being misunderstood like that.”

Taeyang also made sure to touch on his friendships with the rest of the members. “Big Bang is still living in a dorm together. It has come to a point where we don’t need to say everything outloud in order to understand one another, just like how families are… During break, we got together to work on a lot of songs. Many new songs have already been made. We’re just putting the finishing touches on our album now.”

When asked about Big Bang’s plans for 2012, he concluded, “We’ve had an annual concert named ‘Big Show’, and that will take place in March in 2012. We’re also going to release an album around that time… In 2012, Big Bang will be working to promote actively and pay back our fans who have trusted us with great music. Of course, my solo album, which I’m currently working on in addition to Big Bang’s album, will also be released.”

The final decision has been confirmed that Big Bang's leader, G-Dragon will appear at the 2011 YG Family Concert.

On November 6th, Big Bang went to the 2011 MTV EMA held in Belfast, Northern Island, as the first Korean artists to attend the event, and won the "Worldwide Act" award, beating out European nominee Lena, North American nominee Britney Spears, and Africa/India/Middle East nominee Abdelfattah Grini.


At the awards ceremony, G-Dragon, TOP, Taeyang, Daesung, and Seungri, attended the event as five members, saying "We're surprised and thankful. Because we were given this award by our fans, it is even more meaningful", adding "Thank you VIPs (Big Bang's fanclub name), and I hope that through this opportunity, we will be able to bring more interest and love towards Korean music and Big Bang."


Following their "Love Song" promotions, Big Bang has never stood on stage together as five members in Korea. Because this will be the first time in a long time that Big Bang will perform as five members, it is expected that it will give fans great joy.


Over two days on the 3rd and 4th, the 15th Anniversary YG Family Concert will take place three times in the nation's largest indoor venue at the Seoul Olympic Stadium. Next year on January 7th and 8th, the concert will also take place at the Osaka Kyocera Dome and the Saitama Super Arena on January 21st and 22nd.

Big Bang’s Daesung will make his first public appearance at the press conference for upcoming MBN drama “What’s Up” on December 6. Since his car accident in May, Daesung has suspended all activities in Korea.

“Daesung will appear in public at the press conference with other cast members,” an MBN official told local media. Daesung will appear alongside Im Joo Hwan, Lee Soo Hyuk, Jang Hee Jin, and Yim Joo Eun for the first press meeting. 

This will be the first official public event in Korea for Daesung since his car accident last May. He made an appearance at the MTV “European Music Awards” earlier this month with Big Bang, but that show took place in the UK.

“What’s Up” is a TV drama series featuring Daesung as the main lead character. The drama is about the live of theater major students. The 18-part series was filmed before Daesung’s car accident. Meanwhile, Daesung will make his first stage appearance at the “YG Family Concert” next month in Korea.
